S/S 2012 Neon Trend

The cold weather here in Italy is not enough to keep me from going window shopping and as I walk into the shops I am hit by the brightest eye-catching flashes of the latest neon trend.

Accessorizing for the Neon Trend

The next season trend has neon written all over it; bags, dresses, accessories and jewels stand out in their lime, fuschia, green, blue and orange colors. The neon trend bag that every bagaholic has in her closet is produced by Banane Taipei. They draw inspiration from the timeless Birkin by Hermès bag and have an affordable price. It’s available in many colors that fit the latest neon trend.

With an oh, so fabulous bag we need fabulous jewels to match. I’m thinking a Doloris Petunia. These fabulous necklaces and bracelets are made from pieces of old jewelry that are recombined to make new pieces. And, of course, to keep you up on the neon trend, they come in green, yellow, orange, pink and many more bright colors.

Ahhh the shoes…. shoes are a girl’s best friend! You can’t miss the most famous neon pumps and sandals in Europe! The River Island ones are amazing, really comfortable and breathtaking!!

To complete the ensemble, a belt. Italy is the homeland of some of the most well-known designers worldwide like Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Miu-Miu. Their S/S Campaigns for 2012 have the neon trend as one of the main characters and even within the pages of Vogue we can admire the neon flashes of Gucci belts.

Subtle Styling Touches of the Neon Trend

So, you’ve done all this shopping and now you have to get dressed and ready to go. Whether you’re going out on a special date, a party or simply to go to work these tips are quick, easy and yet you’ll still look fabulous!

Take a simple black sheath dress (Audrey Hepburn teaches!) over the knees and low-cut (Important thing: the Sheath dress is a MUST that must be in your wardrobe! It is simple and you can style it in different ways). Use the Banane Taipei bag in pink, two Doloris Petunia bracelets (one for each arm), a Gucci slim pink belt and finish your outfit with a pair of River Island (made in the UK) shoes. Voila! Les jeux sont fait! I recommend natural make-up with a few pops of color that match your accessories.
