Meet Dimitris Strepkos

Dimitris Strepkos is a man with an extensive repertoire of exceptional talents. He is an innovative art director, teacher at fashion schools and a popular fashion editor, who is also a dramatic avant-garde fashion and theatrical costume designer. He is well-known in the fashion industry for experimenting with the traditional forms of fashion. He often pushes the boundaries to the extreme with his striking surreal creations, sometimes putting heavy emphasis on the dark, intriguing and sinister in his bold designs.

Born in Germany and educated in Greece and Europe, Dimitri has always had an intense passion for art. He was already a stylist’s assistant at the age of fifteen before studying fashion stage design and fashion styling in London’s school of fashion. He has created magazine editorials, produced exciting video clips and TV commercials, while also creating and directing new concepts in the fashion industry.

“Celebrity Skin” which he formed with talented art director & stage designer, Eleni Barla, is a fine example of this. Their avant-garde fashion brand, inspired by Hollywood glamour icons such as Marlene Dietrich and Tim Burton’s movies is highly-fashionable in a bizarre and theatrical way.

Chic models with pale makeup and backcombed hair have strut many a catwalk in an array of black, hand-made laced outfits with ruffled cuffs and black fishnet stockings. Accessorized with unconventional hats, gloves and shoes, Celebrity Skin depicts a gothic style that embraces the duo’s motto, “Dare to Wear”. Their main philosophy though, is for their clothes to feel like a second skin.

Their first collection, entitled “Tim Burton’s Impossible Nightmare,” won ‘Best New Designer” and “Best Catwalk” at the 10^th Athens Xclusive Designers Week and succeeded in, acquiring them an army of loyal fans.

Since then, there have been more incredible collections; “Immortal Extravaganza,” (their strangest offering) “Desireless Humanoid,” (their first commercial effort) “Cemeterial Purity,” (including white designs), “Dramatic Discipline,” (edgy and provocative) and “Industrial Ray,” (which made them known to a much wider audience).

Celebrity Skin has also traveled the world to be seen by fashionistas in London, Mexico and Dubai, to name but a few places. His mixtures of sophisticated styles have been popular with artists and celebrities both at home and abroad and featured on the covers of International magazines.

At the moment, Dimitri is almost ready for his next fashion extravaganza, “DECOnsTRuCtion” which will be presented at the AthensXclusive Designers week, 19th of March, before being shown in New York in September. This fabulous collection will focus on Goth glam and his love for the theater.
