The Dilemma: What to wear for Valentine’s day

With the big lovey dovey holiday just around the corner, I wanted to put together some ideas on what to wear for Valentine’s day. Each one of these is a bit different than the other but still fit the description of flirty, sexy, cute or romantic. Regardless of which one of these you’re in the mood for, there should be something for each vibe. Most of these are outfits that would work for dinner, movies, concert, carriage ride (dreamy!), some even work for school! Check these looks out and see if this helps you decide what to wear for Valentine’s Day!

Ideas for what to wear for Valentine’s day

This look is simple, yet sexy. The bustier is what brings in the sexiness while the skirt softens it and keeps it from being TOO sexy. The accessories are a combination of edgy and cute while the clutch and heels add sultriness. I like to keep the earrings simple when wearing layered or complex necklaces; you can also choose not wear earrings.

Writing a post like this can be tricky because you have to think of all the possible places your readers’ dates might be taking them. When I created this look, I couldn’t help but think ‘picnic and sunset stroll around the park’. Easy, lightweight fabrics and a hint of accessorizing is what dominates this look. I can totally see beach waves in the hair or maybe a slightly undone easy updo. The shoes (drool) are just ridiculously gorgeous. Platform shoes are generally easier to walk on and the chunky heel is also friendlier than the sharp, pointy stiletto heel.

This looks makes me think of Elizabeth Taylor. Classy, sexy, sultry, mysterious and confident. I wanted to give you a look that was all those things but also a little different for those girls that did not want to wear the expected red or pink. The coat jewelry, the clutch and the shoes (check out the detail on the heel!) are all timeless, and elegant and the dress is, of course, the statement piece. Can you imagine your man’s (and everyone else’s) eyes when you take off your coat?! I can hear the jaws dropping now….

Still thinking of what to wear for Valentine’s day?

Okay, let’s keep it simple. Find a cute dress that fits well, a few simple accessories, cute heels, clutch and you’re good to go! This look is an example of a frilly and flirty dress that doesn’t need much accessorizing. I kept it simple with small earrings and a cute bow necklace that hopefully lies just on the collarbone (super sexy!). For the look seen here, makeup should be light and natural with rose, pinks, and even plum being the main colors. I just so happened to come across the cute lingerie set which matched perfect with it so I thought I’d show you how cute it looks!

This is another example of wearing a simple, easy dress (which is not red or pink ^_^) and focusing on accessorizing. But, first of all, I just can’t tell you how much I fell in love with this clutch and the shoes! (sigh)….. Okay, I’m back… Like I was saying, a simple dress with key pieces is a great way to make an impression without stressing over the outfit. Since the dress is all in the same color, bring in other shades in your makeup, nails, belt, clutch, etc.

I know it’s a special day for some of us, whether we are spending it with a special someone or sharing loving moments with family and friends. Remember, don’t be afraid to try something new and different! As long as you feel confident, go for it! Trust me, that confidence will go a long way, especially if you’re nervous!

Comment below and let me know what you think of these outfits. Would you wear them? What would you change? Have you already decided what to wear for Valentine’s day?
